Hi, I’m Brittany!
Let’s start off with the personal stuff! I’m married to the man of my dreams and have a beautiful baby girl named Lennon. We moved to our dream home three years ago, a hobby farm outside of London, Ontario. We have two dogs, two cats, and eight chickens! We spend a large focus on trying to create a sustainable life at home and reduce our global footprint. Our home is heated off wood, powered by geothermal and we are in the process of adding in solar. We built a natural swimming pond two years ago in our backyard, which not only is amazing for swimming but also has created a backyard ecosystem. Our goal is to be able to provide ourselves with as much as our own food as possible. Our meat comes from animals I personally hunted or friends or family raised. Our vegetables come from our large garden and we usually have enough to preserve and store throughout the winter. This past summer we planted 8 fruit trees which I hope flourish in the next 5-10 years. Lastly, our eggs come from our chickens and our sweetener ( honey) comes from brothers bees ( the best beekeeper!!). Of course, we still rely on food in the grocery store but we do our best to support local farmers and not industrial farming when we do.
Professionally, well, I went to school for health & fitness but after graduating I got my first job in sales. I was extremely ambitious and loved the industry as the opportunity for making money was endless. I worked the grind, knocked on doors, made cold calls, and filled my bank account. I bought my first house at age 23 and was making six figures at an extremely young age. I continued to grow the corporate latter but no matter how much money I was making or what title I had, something was always missing. My passion. And that was helping people.
I eventually made the move from the high paying job to the zero paying job and joined forces with my now-husband and long-time friend to chase our dreams with Hybrid Fitness Center. It was a new kind of grind, and I loved every minute of it as it filled my heart with so much satisfaction. Not only have I been blessed with a career of helping people, but I am also surrounded by amazing people every day who in return help me. They help me appreciate my health, remind me what dedication and hard work mean and help me create an amazing community of individuals by being part of it. Today, Hybrid Fitness has over 700 members and is growing so rapidly we are moving into a brand new 16,000 square foot facility this upcoming 2019.
This past year I received my designation as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and completed a certificate program in Holistic Culinary. I also am continuing my education towards becoming a Clinical Herbalist. I love to cook, try new recipes, test out herbal remedies and make my home as natural and toxic-free as possible. I take the health of my child very seriously and have spent a lot of time researching all the hottest topics around kids health. I have always loved sharing my favorite findings, recipes and inspiring others through stories and reflection.
One of my best friends, Angela McNally has been on me for years about starting a blog. I use social media as a way to share my passion in the holistic field, but she encouraged me to create a bigger platform for not only others but myself. It wasn’t until she launched her online program the Blogger Launch and invited me to join the program where I took the leap. If you ever have thought about starting a blog before but don’t know where to start, check out her program by going to www.angelamcnally.com for more details!
Whatever brought you here today, thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy my blog.
